Privacy
Privacy by design.
This is a summary of our principles. A full policy will be provided with any deployment agreement.
What we collect
Your name and email, the profile you choose to fill in, what you post in your Circle (messages, photos, voice notes and reactions), and any follow-up answers you give.
Voice notes and photos
They are stored privately and can only be opened by current members of your Circle and its facilitators, through short-lived links. Kindred does not transcribe voice notes and does not analyse messages, photos or voice for emotion, friendship or intent. It records only simple facts, such as that a voice note of a certain length was sent. Organisation admins never see Circle conversations.
Consent first
Taking part, follow-up questions and research use are three separate choices. Follow-ups and research are optional and can be withdrawn at any time.
Evidence about pairs
Kindred records simple facts about each pair in a Circle, such as whether two people have replied to each other or say they keep in touch. These facts are not scores or rankings. Facilitators supporting your Circle can see them. Your organisation cannot.
Aggregate reporting
Organisations see totals only, and small groups are hidden. Kindred never shows individual social vulnerability, who knows whom, or rankings to employers, universities or event organisers.
Research use
Only for people who agree to research. Data is studied under codes instead of names, without email addresses or message text, and every research export is logged.
Your rights
You can download your data, withdraw consent, leave a Circle and ask for deletion at any time. Deletion and correction requests are currently handled by a person, not automatically, and each one is logged. Retention periods are agreed per deployment.
